Welcome to the official Modern Class Design app.

Originating from Washington, D.C., Vernon Davis founded Modern Class Design in 2010 in Maryland, along with his partner Antone Barnes. Davis is better known for his abilities on the football field as a top performing tight end for the NFLs San Francisco 49ers. Davis’ love for art was tailored during his collegiate tenure while attending the University of Maryland where his field of study was studio art.


Drafted into the NFL in 2006, Davis has continued to foster his passion for art through personal paintings, charitable work encouraging constructive art and graffiti, and by partnering with the San Francisco Art Commission to award the “Vernon Davis Visual Arts Scholarship” to young, aspiring artists. This business venture of interior designing complements his adoration for the arts by being able to create aesthetically pleasing spaces filled with vibrant colors and detail, such as those illustrated in his paintings.

Davis has established an “untapped” clientele of athletes through his association with the NFL that will serve as Modern Class Design’s target market.

Antone Barnes is the second partner in this dynamic duo. Barnes serves as co-founder, owner, and Chief Operating Officer for Modern Class Design. Originally from Jersey City, New Jersey, Barnes began his career in the entertainment industry as a record executive for some of the top labels in the music industry. His background in marketing and promotions has afforded him the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the music business. During his 15 years in this role, Barnes has contributed to more than 20 million records sold around the world from top names such as Prince, Stevie Wonder and Jay-Z to Nelly, Brian McKnight and 50 Cent.


Mr. Barnes attributes his passion for art to his father who was exceptional in designing his childhood home and owned-businesses. With innate talent as an interior designer, Barnes designed his current home in Maryland which gained notoriety from various individuals, including his business partner Vernon Davis. Since founding the company in 2010 with Davis, Barnes has already designed several NFL players’ homes and is in the process of designing a corporate office of a top sports agency located in the affluent area of McLean, Virginia.
